Inas Rabie Halal is the FIRST and ONLY
Syrian female Drummer and percussionist. She is one of the very few Arab females
who are actively working in the music field as a percussionist or drummer.
Inas graduated from the Media University of Damascus and has been working in the music industry since 2007.
Inas inherited her passion for drumming and music from her late father Rabee Halal, who used to be the first officially registered Syrian Drummer in the music organization in Syria. He used to work along with his Big brother with the famous Fairouz and Rahbani Brothers, Melhem Barakat, Ragheb Alama, and many other Arab artists.
He also had his own band touring around the Middle east. They called
themselves (The birds)
Inas was passionate for music at a very young age. She used to play by ear and without learning whenever she had the chance to hold a percussion instrument like the Darbuka.
People used to be amazed by her talent.
Growing up, she got the attention of the crowd as she used to play around schools and camps for she was the only FEMALE playing a male-dominated instrument.
When she joined MARY ORCHESTRA’S first concert, she got the attention of the media along with the audience.
Since then, she is known as the First Syrian Female Drummer. We haven’t seen any other Syrian female drummer or percussionist until today.
Started her musical career at a very young age by volunteering at the international organization of IMAC.
She taught music and dance for children. She worked closely with them to help them discover the different aspects of life through regular weekly meetings and summer camps that were full of Music, practical methods, games, and fun.
Inas worked with IMAC for more than 15 years and participated in many national
and international conferences to develop the ability of young people.
